Having twins is considered to be a lucky rare occurrence in most cultures. Apparently this is not the case with Australian lesbians who are suing their doctor for artificially inseminating one of them with twins. I suppose the buy one get one free promotion is grounds for litigation when it comes to children.
In a first of it’s kind lawsuit the couple is suing for the additional cost of raising the child until the age of 21. The couple, whose combine income exceeds $100,000, are seeking $398,000 to cover the costs of raising one of the girls, including private school fees.
The women, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, told the ACT Supreme Court today the mother suffered nausea during her pregnancy and in the latter stages could only move around with a walking stick.
The unidentified couple also wants around $15,000 to compensate them for time off work, plus an additional amount for medical expenses.
No word on if the couple will seek further compensation if the children grow up disobey their parents, not wanting to listen to Melissa Etheridge, crying for no reason or worse turn out to be republicans.
