Bush has proved himself to be a uniter after all, pretty much everyone has grown to dislike him over something. His approval ratings have been at or near historical lows for much of the last few years, but congress has been even more unpopular. Nearly a third as popular according to the latest polls, only 11 percent of the US population approves of their performance.
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President George W. Bush and the U.S. Congress registered record-low approval ratings in a Reuters/Zogby poll released on Wednesday, and a new monthly index measuring the mood of Americans dipped slightly on deepening worries about the economy.
Only 29 percent of Americans gave Bush a positive grade for his job performance, below his worst Zogby poll mark of 30 percent in March. A paltry 11 percent rated Congress positively, beating the previous low of 14 percent in July.
Which led me to do a little research into what people believe in, 11 percent seems like an awfully small number. Bush would have to simultaneously give amnesty to every person in Mexico and mail them a free airline ticket while simultaneously invading Iran, Syria and Belgium just for good measure.
