I’ve read the story on this place and they didn’t necessarily just ignite it to get rid of it. They were building tower to drill and pipe the gas to local towns etc and it collapsed into the ground. They lit the fire to keep too much natural gas from escaping (health hazard) and prevent any uncontrolled fires. I’d love to see it in person! Beautiful photo’s, thanks for posting!
